Geez..update

Havent been on here in forever.I dont even know what to talk about right now..But I have been up for a very long time.After work I took Reece shopping for school clothes.Hes at the age where he has to pick everything out now and he is very picky.

I already signed him up for Soccer.They are starting it in August this year.Dont ask my why,with our crazy heat and mosquitoes,it will be miserable.My BFF Lena came to visit me in July and we went to my parents,Laura Ingalls place,Mammoth Springs park,Bass Pro shop,Silver Dollar City and the lake.We had an amazing time and we are just like family,like sisters.

It wasnt like meeting a stranger and it wasnt awkward or anything.It was great and I cant wait to see her again.The minute she left I cried:( She got to stay for the whole week.I only got 3 days off that week so I was at work for most of the time or sleeping:( We still had a blast.We all went to eat at Shorty Smalls on Reeces birthday and Lena got him a Lakers Pennant which he loves.Reece is crazy mad about basketball.He loves the Lakers,Cavaliers and the Celtics.

I have Tuesdays and Wednesdays off at work but when school starts back,the week of the 17th I asked to go to part time and have Monday,Tuesday and Wednesday off instead because of the Soccer and Basketball games and helping Reece with schoolwork and everything,cause he always gets a ton.

My moms car hydroplaned and it wrecked her pretty car(saturn sky).Its gonna cost over 10,000 to get it fixed to looking new again.Shes ok though.Grandpa was in the hospital for a week but hes out now and home doing good.Thats pretty much it for me.Work is going awesome.I work my tail off,they appreciate and respect me.I made lots of friends there of all ages.Just good times.

I love July:)

July 4th one of my bestest friends is coming to visit me! I am sooo excited I can hardly contain myself.July 3rd is my 16 year wedding anniversary.July 9th is Reeces 11th birthday!!

My friend is going to stay with me for a whole week.Shes coming with us to visit my family and we are going to Silver Dollar City and the lake on my parents boat.Hubby took the week off work but I could only get my two days off plus one extra day.

I hope everyone has a good 4th.Work is getting easier but it can get boring sometimes too.Its a pretty decent job though.Everyone always says I do a great job and while alot of other peoples hours are getting cut they continue to give me the full 40 hours a week so I am very thankful:)

I wish I had time to blog more often and I wish I could catch up with others more too but it seems we are all pretty busy.I have been swimming and laying out everyday after work.I know its too early for most people to be swimming at 8am but its peaceful.I wish we had a privacy fence though anyway.We will one day.XO

Tired....

Work gripes and questions..

I had a hellish night.My job is pretty hard especially for a previous stay at home mom of 6 years.I got 985 boxes of frozen stuff in last night to put away.Of course I didnt even get half of it done but did the best I could.Sometimes I feel like I am the wrong age and the wrong sex for this job.Its rough on these old achy bones.

I keep hearing at work "They dont pay me enough to work hard." Ok,so what I am wondering is how much do you think is enough for you to work as hard as you possibly can and should, and if they gave you more pay would you actually work harder?I honestly dont think they would work any harder than they do no matter what they were paid.

You wouldnt believe some of the people I work with.Several of them come in at least 10 minutes late every single night in the middle of our nightly meeting and they never get in trouble for it.Some of them come in smelling like either alcohol or mariquana.Am I the only one smelling this? Some have called in sick more times in the past month than I have in my whole lifetime.I just dont see how these people can hold down jobs especially in this economy with so many people needing jobs.

If they gave everyone a random drug test I bet half or more of them would fail and then we wouldnt have enough employees to run the store.

Reece lost a tooth last night.He is my whole world and I miss not spending all my time with him:( The only time we really have mom and son time is on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and its still not enough.It will be even worse when school starts back.My back is still hurting alot.Its a never ending thing.We got our pool all cleaned out and Reece has been swimming in it.He also got a new basketball hoop.His birthday is coming up soon and I got him a PSP and a couple of movies and games for it.I really miss everyone alot and hope to catch up some soon.Tonight is my Friday thank goodness.I am worn out.

I miss you

I miss all you gals so much! I want you to know your all very important to me and I think of you often.I think of you all as "Super Women" like the actual kind with superpowers and I look up to you all in different ways.

Reeces last day of school was today,finally.It seemed neverending the past month with me working and picking him up everyday.My son will be a 6th grader next year.6th and 7th grades scare me because I know those were my roughest years ever.Maybe things will be different for him.

He had 4 As,3 Bs and 1 C and I am very proud of him for working so hard.He got a pendant for getting chosen to be in the spelling bee this year and he got an award in reading and social studies:) I didnt know he was getting any of those so it was a wonderful surprise and I actually made it to his school in time to see him recieve them:) (well not the pendant but the two certificates)

Work is still rough but its getting easier.We get trucks in 3 days a week and the first one is the hardest which comes on Thursdays and after working hard all night then the very next night we get another one.Then on Saturdays its an easy night and then we get another one on Sunday.Fridays are always the hardest for me because I am still not rested up from Thursday yet.

I am glad school is out and I am hoping now I can get more sleep and get to see Reece more too:) I kind of sleep in bursts of 3 hours here and there sometimes..Its not the night shift that bothers me,I just have trouble sleeping and always have.I went to the doc last week and he told me Ambien and all the major advertised sleeping meds were not good for me and you can only take those 3 nights a week at most so he gave me something I could take everynight and would be safe.It says on the label its for anxiety and insomnia.But of course,I dont really notice them doing anything for me.Medicenes dont work on me like they do normal people.

Somedays I think they work a little and some days they just dont work at all.So I take them off and on.Well thats pretty much all thats been going on with me.Just work and sleep.I try and watch movies on my days off and just veg out and eat ice cream and rest.Since I work in frozen foods I get to see all the ice cream flavors and we have tons of them in all brands! So I sample different ones on my days off:)~ I would have to say my favorite brand of ice cream is Blue Bunny.They just have some good quality ice cream! My favorite flavors of theirs are Turtle Sundae,Peanut Butter Cookie and Banana Split.I havent tried the one called Bunny Tracks yet but I know we sell a ton of it and I am sure its good.This week I am trying Breyers.One carton is split with half chocolate and half vanilla bean and the other carton I got is coffee ice cream.They are all good but I still prefer the Blue Bunny brand.

LOL..my life is just so exciting anymore I tell ya! :)~ Well guess thats it for now! Reece will be 11 on July 9th.Not sure what we are doing yet but he doesnt want to have a party.I think he wants to go out to eat with family and maybe do a little something like go swimming or to a movie or something.I pay Reece an allowance every week now.Before it was to pick up after himself,help me with light cleaning,have all his homework done before I woke up,keep his grades up and keep quiet while mommy is sleeping.Hes done an excellent job and I pay him $20 a week.We get paid every week now and so does Reece.Now that schools out his job he has more responsibilties with cleaning and fixing meals for himself and staying quiet for longer cause he will be home all day now.So I am going to continue to pay him.

He has $90 now.I asked him if hes going to buy a Playstation 3 or a Wii or some new video games or something and he said no hes saving it all to buy him a car:) You can get a drivers permit here when your 14 so he could possibly buy a car for himself in just 3 years but he cant get a job until hes 16.He has his whole life planned out on paper now.I just found a notebook today while doing a thorough cleaning of his room and he wrote that he wanted to work at Subway at 16,then go to college at ASU here in Arkansas and become a 7th grade English teacher and writer.Then later on in life he also wanted to go to UCLA and become a movie director!!! WOW:)

Fulltime working mom

Not alot to talk about.All I do anymore is work and sleep.Work is pretty difficult for an out of shape "old" lady like me who has been a stay at home mom for 6 years.I do alot of heavy lifting,pulling,bending up and down and stuff that works every muscle in your body.

Maybe it will be good for me and maybe it will make me stronger and I will get used to it eventually.My hard nights are Thursday and Sunday nights when a big shipment comes in.I work and stock out of the freezer and its 10 degrees and below in there.

I am off on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and I take full advantage of my days off and try to get the housework done and catch up on watching movies and spending some time with Reece.I am so ready for school to be out so I can try and get on a better sleeping pattern.I have been coming right home from work and taking Reece to school,sleeping 6 hours and then picking him up and cooking dinner.Thats starting to really wear me out.6 hours after working all night is not cutting it for me.

I really miss everyone and I hope you are all doing good.

I have been so busy lately.I dont have time to come online much anymore.We have been having so much rain here our road was completely flooded.One night we had to stay in a motel and a couple of other nights we had to park at the end of the road and wade through the water to get to our house.

The water went down today but its raining again right now and they are calling for rain everyday til Tuesday or Wednesday.I start working third shift tomorrow night.Its going to take me awhile to get used to it.

I have been having alot of back pain from my herniated disc in my back but so far working all day has made it feel better (while I am working anyway).When I wake up in the morning its real stiff and sore and after work it kills me but while working its fine.Go figure.But nights have alot more lifting so I am trying to take it easy and wearing a back belt everyday to work.

Quickie..

I work days all this week and overnights all next week....Crazy scedule until I get my normal one in 3 weeks.I HATE working days..hate hate it.I am a total night person.

I am very thankful to have a job though so I will shut up now.I am praying my poor back doesnt go out on me in my first real on hands training day...I have to be so careful with it,its not even funny.I thought nights I could take it easy and be careful with it but working 7-4 on a busy saturday with lots of freight,we will have to see.

I got it!

I got hired on at Walmart.I took my drug test today and I just have to wait until the background check is back before I can start working.She said she will probably call me around the middle of next week to tell me when to start orientation.

I will be working third shift,overnight which should be from 10pm until 7am.Its just a 5 minute drive from my house.Since minimum wage has changed so much I will now be making 2 dollars more an hour than I did back when I worked there about 6 years ago.My hubby makes more than twice of what I'll be making but I will still bring home over an extra 1000 dollars a month so woohoo!Thats way better than me bringing home ZERO!

I am excited! I hate going through all the orientation stuff.I would rather just start my night shift but at least the training is only for about 1 week.I will be working in the frozen foods and dairy.Those are departments I have'nt worked in before but it will be fun.

Interview!

I have an interview with Walmart here in town (about 5 minutes drive) tomorrow at 1230!! So yay, and its for 3rd shift stocking the shelves so its just what I wanted!

I hope my poor back can handle it, but if it can we can really pay off some bills and get ahead!! :) I could be (credit card) debt free before the end of the year now! :)

I have worked at Walmart before about 6 years ago with the same position so I am really hoping they will hire me and that I can start pretty soon.I already know which bills I will pay off first and we already have a wish list made of video games we want.lol...We bought Rockband ACDCs track pack today for Xbox 360 and we want the new Metallica one and the Monsters vs Aliens game.Plus they have the Lips singing game for Xbox 360 on sale now for $50 instead of $70.

I will also get a discount for working there on almost everything:)So that will help with my biweekly grocery bill! :) The pay is not perfect but the hours are and its close by.It will add around $1000 a month to our income though and I wont have to spend hardly anything on gas!Wish me luck! I will post more later.Reece also got his new glasses today and they are so cute! My sisters new book of poetry came out today too!! Update

I took Reece to the eye doctor yesterday because he said he has been having trouble reading the board.He sits at the back of the class.It turns out he is mildly near-sided like me.He will only have to wear his glasses in the classroom only.He is excited about getting them.

I let him pick out his own.Our insurance gives a $138 allowance and he picked out a pair that costs $10.I wanted him to have the ones he really wanted and thats what he chose.They are the thick black plastic frames that are in style right now.I will post a pic of him in them when they come in.

They arent suppose to be in until Tuesday.I have not heard from any jobs lately and I am getting worried now.I was really hoping to hear from at least one of the 3 Walmarts I applied overnight for.This weekend we are going to just sit back and relax.I want to go see Adventureland at the movies but Reece wants to see 17 again.I am not sure if we will go to the movies or not.We are going to watch 7 pounds this weekend.Everyone keeps saying its really good.Hubby has to mow on Saturday.

The weekend after this one hubby has to work in West Memphis on a community project through his work and I am going to my cousin Caseys baby shower.Happy Hump Day!

Happy Easter.We went to my grandparents yesterday and ate lunch at their house and I hid eggs for Reece.Today we are going to go see Monsters vs. Aliens 3D and then come home and cook steaks and shrimp on the grill with baked potatoes and strawberry shortcake for dessert! Yesterday was a really nice day out but its suppose to rain today and for at least 2 days following:( I hope our road does not flood because Reece has state testing at school all next week and he cant miss.

My hubby has to work tomorrow.Me and Reece are going to go to my grandparents house and maybe have a picnic.I am bringing some chicken salad and stuff to make strawberry shortcakes and I am also taking some lemonade.

I wanted to mention that last weekend we watched Marley and Me and it was an awesome movie.I loved it but it was a sad movie.We may go see Monsters vs. Aliens 3D movie on Sunday if we have extra money and hubby wants too.I know Reece really wants to see it.I got Reece an Easter basket and some plastic eggs with jolly ranchers inside them to hide at my grandmas house.Me and him usually take turns hiding and finding them.

Reece got his class picture back today from school and in the mail I got a beautiful bookmark from my friend Justfly:) Also this week I got my birthday presents from Danielle and she got me a Barnes and Noble gift card and two bookmarks:) I am so blessed!! I have such amazing friends and family and I am thankful for them every single day.

I havent heard from any 3rd shift jobs yet but its still kinda early to hear anything yet.I am hoping to hear from at least 1 of the Walmarts soon.I hope everyone has a wonderful Easter weekend.I am ready for school to be out.I am tired of getting up at 620am.I am so not a morning person.

Stress,anxiety and all around ickiness

I have been feeling like crap lately.I've been tired and worn out and achy and just having medical type issues I definitely dont want to talk about.Hopefully its just something minor and will take care of itself.

I applied for over ten jobs.Two called today but unfortunately being a stay at home,protective mother I have to be picky about what jobs I chose.I was offered a cashier position at NEA Baptist hospital in their cafeteria from 10am til 7pm.I cant do those because I have to get Reece from school at 315 and school will be out next month and theres no one to watch him from 10-7.If I chose to take him to daycare they are only open from 6-6 and hubby doesnt get home before 6.

The second person who called was from St.Bernards hospital and he told me about a housekeeping job that paid 9.60 an hour which is alot for around here.But the hours were from 330pm until midnight.That would be better except Reece isnt out of school until 315 and its a 20 minute drive,also in the summer he would have to be here alone from 3 until 7 or so when hubby got home.So those hours just dont work for us.Plus if I did those hours Reece would have to give up sports.

It sucks because I really need a job and I need to work fulltime but I need 3rd shift.I am just hoping Walmart or Walgreens calls and needs me 3rd shift.At Walmart I could just jump right in and know what to do already.It doesnt pay as much as other places but I'm not worried about pay right now.I am more worried about working the hours I need.I have worked at Walmart before and its a process and headache to get hired and actually start working but its one I can deal with and would be happy to do if they would just call me.I honestly dont even know if they are hiring at this time but I applied at all 3 of them.Whichever one calls first is the one I will do but I would rather do the one we have here in town.

I know its awful that I have to be so picky and I wish I didnt have to be but Reece is only 10 and hes still my little guy and he comes first above everything else and always will.Right now I'm not worried about pay as much as I am the right hours.

Back to reality..

Well vacation was fabulous! We had the time of our lives and it will never be forgotten and I am so thankful to my parents for taking us on such an adventure!

But now its time to start job hunting! I havent worked in 5 years and the economy is tough so I know its not going to be an easy task and will probably take some time.So far I have applied to some places online like Kohls,gas station,Kmart and Walgreens all third shift which I am sure some of those dont even have 3rd shift positions!I am planning to apply at Walmart 3rd shift too but the one in town,their computers are down right now:( I do know one of the managers that works there though so if I could just grab her for a few it might help.

If all else fails I could just get a weekend only job where I work a half day Friday and all day Saturday and Sunday.Maybe I could get 20 hours a week and rake in enough to pay 5 or 6 small bills a month.Something is better than nothing and the $200 a month babysitting gig just was not enough.I need at least double that.I prefer fulltime overnight though to really get the bills paid off and get ahead.So thats what I am going for right now.

So wish me luck!! I know I am going to need it with the way things are right now.

We had an awesome time,the time went by way too fast.I have missed everyone.We went to Panama City Beach on Friday.Monday we went to Disneys Magic Kingdom,Tuesday Epcot,Wednesday Animal Kingdom and it was also my stepdads birthday that day and I got him a spiderman cake and I got him 3 shirts.One I got him from Epcot in the England section of the park.I got his favorite Soccer team shirt (Manchester United).Thursday we went to Hollywood Studios and Friday we came home.There is so much to tell but I am so exhausted from the trip still and feel nauseous.

Disneyworld here we come!!

My parents are picking up me and Reece today at 3pm and we are headed to Disneyworld.We will spend tonight in Alabama and then Saturday we will spend the day at the beach in Panama City Beach,FL.Sunday we will head to Kissimmee,FL where we will be 3 miles from Disneyworld and that is where we will spend the rest of our trip.We will be gone until March 28th.

We got 5 day passes to the parks.My family ring that hubby got me for my birthday came yesterday:) Its a 3 heart ring with hubbys birthstone(emerald),then Reeces in the center(ruby) and then mine(aquamarine).Sorry I have been away for so long!! My birthday is in 9 days and we are leaving for vacation in 16 days! Why is it so hard for my skin to tan!I am looking forward to getting away with my parents,Reece and nephew and having the time of our lives.I havent been on a vacation with my parents this big since I was 14 years old and we went to Europe.I am excited!! I think Reece is super excited too!

Hes never even been out of Arkansas,Tennessee and Missouri yet.Now he gets to add Mississippi,Alabama and Florida to his list of states hes been through/to and he gets to go to the beach for the first time:) We are going to visit Panama City beach and Daytona beach!From where we live to Orlando is only 14 hours.I dont know why I was thinking it was more like 22.This trip will be alot smoother than I thought.(Hopefully anyway) lol..

I hope everyone is enjoying their week.Its been going by pretty fast for me so far.

Update I guess..

I havent posted in awhile and dont even know where to start really.I started tanning this week to get ready for our Disney vacation in a few weeks.I went for 8 minutes on Monday,8 minutes on Tuesday and then today I told him I wanted to go for 9 and he put me in there for 19.I just went ahead and stayed in there the whole time and burnt my belly and back.

I know I should have known better but I purchased minutes and just didnt want to argue about it if that even makes sense.Nothing else got burnt so next time I go tan I will wear a tank top and short shorts and cover the more sensitive areas.I think I will take a break and not go in tomorrow and then go in for like 8 minutes on Friday.

My birthday is in 2 weeks and we are leaving for Disney in 3 weeks.This year has been kind of sucky for me so far so I am hoping this trip turns things around and that the rest of the year following gets better.We did get a new roof put on this year so I am so happy about that:) All our saltwater fish died when the power was out so hubby cleaned the tank out and got a new stand that matches our living room furniture and we are going to get freshwater fish in the next couple of weeks or so.

We painted our kitchen from an ivory color to a dark brown which I love but we still need to redo.Advice:If your going to paint a room in your house buy all the paint you will need at one time,its better to have extra than not enough because if you have to go back and get more the color never quite matches!I was going to sell my treadmill and someone came over with cash to buy it but I guess bringing it down the stairs it got a short in it or something because now its all messed up and I got so mad about it I just shoved it in the garage.Reece just finished Twilight and is going to take a test on it tomorrow.Wish him luck because hes probably going to need it!

Has it been that long?

For a stay at home mom why I am so darn busy? Not alot to talk about really.My back is giving me probs again and it seems any form of workout that I do that involves a machine of any kind just makes it so much worse so I have sold my treadmill and am trying to sell a couple of other things.

Disneyworld is in 5 weeks.I was going to apply for a job 3rd shift in 6 weeks but I am worried about my back and how things will go with me going back to work but I have got to give it a try.I know it wont be easy though.

I got a wonderful Valentine package from one of my best friends Dani,thank you so much,your as sweet as sugar and you know I love you to death.I got a late Christmas/early birthday present package from my friend Sin last week which was awesome.For Valentines/early birthday present from hubby,he ordered me a family ring that will have 3 hearts on it with mine,his and Reeces birthstones in it:) I cant wait for that to come in.I am hoping in comes in before the Disney trip so I can wear it.

I guess thats pretty much it.The roofer said he was going to try and come out this week and I hope he makes it over here.Our roof is in bad shape and I am ready to get it over with.We have been waiting since October.My aunts finally got power after 14 days.My third cousin Darlene is still without but they have a generator.My granparents cabin where we have Thanksgiving every year burned down:( Its still hard to believe thats it gone:(



I guess thats about all the news here...Its 134am and I am gonna go to bed now.I hope everyone has a good week.

19 Year Anniversary/bedroom pic/bball

Happy Anniversary Comments

19 years ago today me and hubby had our very first date at the High School Valentine dance.I showed up 15 years old, overdressed in a pink sequin slinky dress thinking the dance was formal and was not so I went back home and changed into something more comfortable.Then we danced every dance and kissed on every slow song.So today is actually the anniversary of our first date and our first kiss both.I dont feel old enough to have been with someone for that long.All of the other moms around my area that I am around havent been together as long as me and my hubby although some of them are older than us.I think being married to the same person or being together with the same person for that long is kind of rare these days and I feel very lucky and very blessed and I have an amazing husband.No one could ever wish for anyone better.

Basketball is over for Reece.Their team won second place in the league and in the tournament and he will get a trophy from that which is cool:) They had their farewell party Saturday night.If you cant find Reece hes number 3 and the third one over on the bottom row.

Heres an awesome necklace I bought at Hallmark the other day.Its magnets that hook together with me and hubbys name on them.It only costs me $8 too!Our 19 year Anniversary of our first date is Feb.9th.

My Aunts are still without power,its insane!Its going on ten days for them now and its 62 degrees today.Its just crazy stuff.

Reece made the Spelling Bee,which he is thrilled to death about! He got chosen out of everyone in his class to be in the school spelling bee.He is so shy and he has to get up in front of everyone and spell words hes probably unfamiliar with on a microphone in front of everyone! He says he does'nt have a problem with doing that.If you met him you would never think he would do something like that but he is so excited about it:)

Roadrunner Records called me yesterday and they want me to do a show in Mississippi thats only about 2 hours away for the band "The Parlor Mob" who I actually like alot.Their songs are kind of jazzy/bluesy/rock.They are these long haired hippy looking dudes from New Jersey.The concert is Feb.19th on a Thursday night.The show is 18 and up and I told them I could'nt do it unless Reece could come along and they are looking into it and trying to get him in anyway;) Like a special VIP if you will;)Steve wont be able to come because he will be at work and we would have to leave at around 4pm to get there in time to put posters up around town and in the venue.

The last of Reeces basketball games are this weekend and they are all about an hour from here.They are tournament games.The first one is tonight at 7 and if they win which I know they will,then their second game will be tomorrow morning at noon and if they win that one then their last game will be Saturday night at 6.Then on Sunday they are having a farewell basketball party at the Community Center.So its a busy weekend for us!

I have been drinking Organic Apple Cider vinegar in my water everyday and I feel fabulous.I drink 2 32 oz jugs of water a day and I put 2 teaspoons in my first jug and 1 teaspoon in the second one.If you try this it needs to be the Organic kind which you can only get in Health stores.It breaks up the fat in your body and disposes of it,it is good for hair and skin,infections and just all kinds of good stuff!

P.S.I need to find a way to record Reece singing and post it on here.He just melts my heart!

Back to normal

Here are some pics from the ice storm we had.I only took the first couple of pics without the ice because when we lost our power my camera battery was dead.The icy pics were taken by my cousin who lives about 30 minutes from me.





Reece is finally back to school today and his basketball games were all resceduled for this coming weekend instead of this past weekend because we just got our power back on Friday and some people are still without.There were still alot of schools cancelled today.

We finally got our tax forms in today so we can file those tonight.Reece read a book on the days he was off so he could stay ahead in his school work.We could have done alot more but during the times he was off he was sick and running a fever so he slept alot.Hubby got on the roof last night and put a small tarp on it and not even an hour later it started raining.I am just glad things are back to normal and we can get into our regular routine again.

Did you know that just reading 20 minutes a day for one year your child will be exposed to one million words as well as increase spelling,grammar and writing skills?Me and Reece read pretty much every night of the week.Last year "lurched" was one of his vocabulary words and I was like who ever uses that word? Then believe it or not about every single book we have read after that day has that word in it! Not all of the adult books I read do but it seems all of his do! I said I wish I had a dollar for everytime that word is published in a book because I would definitely be a millionare.

Thankful but sad

Our power went out Tuesday around 5pm from the winter storm we had and later on that night our Police Chief was out moving broken tree limbs and a tree fell on him and killed him.It was a tragic day for our town to lose a really wonderful man and this is a really great loss for us.He would have been 40 next month,he would have celebrated his 20th wedding Anniversary this year and his son was graduating from High School in May.

He can never be replaced because he was an extraordinary man and he will not be forgotten.Hubby had to work today but me and Reece went to the funeral.I pretty much cried the entire time.Funerals are extremely hard for me and I was trying to talk myself out of going but Reece wanted to go and I am glad I did to honor his memory and to show support for his family and fellow officers.

Our power came back on Friday around 1-2ish.Me and Reece had gone to the mall to stay warm because our house was so cold you could see your breath and I called my grandma and her power was back on so we were going to stay there and when we came home to pack our power was on.We had to throw out most of our food.I had just bought groceries on Monday to last for 2 weeks and Tuesday the power went out:( So I did the cleanup and then went and bought some more stuff last night.They said this was the worst storm we have had in 40 years! I could go another 40 or more without another one too! Next time I will be prepared and buy a gas burning stove.Live and learn,I guess!! My aunts are still out of power and they say it could be until Tuesday before they get theirs back.

My cousin, my grandparents and us have power again though.I invited the ones without power to stay with us but they have a generator now and are doing fine and before that,they had gas heaters installed.Thanks everyone so much for your prayers!They really worked and our power came on just hours after we checked out of the motel:)Now hopefully school will be back in session Monday! Reece probably wont have a Spring Break now and my mom already booked a Condo for a week.We will get it figured out one way or another!

I woke up with puffy eyes today.Not real bad,but not good either and of course I have been crying on and off all day so far so I look pretty pitiful right now.The puffy parts are my eyelids so they look freaky.

Major Ice Storm:( Prayer request

We had a horrible ice storm here and have been without power for 2 days and they say it will still take days to fix.Reeces ceiling is so damaged inside from getting wet after last night it looks like it might fall in:( We are in a motel right now until Friday morning in West Memphis.We were lucky to be able to get one at all because they are all booked all around us.My aunts,cousins and grandparents are all without power too.We slept at home last night and froze but tonight its suppose to get down to 17 degrees and Reece is still sick.

This is a really major ordeal around our whole area and our Police Chief was killed last night because he was out putting cones on the road to keep everyone from going out and a tree fell on him and he died instantly.

Still having trouble

My eyes are still swollen on the lids and underneath my eyes and they have been that way for at least a full week.I went to the doctor on Friday and he gave me a steriod shot which he said would make it better within 4 hours and he gave me some free samples of some new allergy pills.My eyes were a lilttle better on Saturday but they are still swollen again today and were all day yesterday and I am just feeling kinda icky all over.

I have been drinking 64 ounces of water a day for the past 3 days.I have been confiding in my 3rd cousin Darlene lately too these past few weeks (my moms cousin) and she is a wonderful person.She gave me this detox recipe.She used to be a nurse but is now disabled.

RECIPE:
1 glass of water, 2 capfuls of apple cider vinegar, 1/2 tsp baking soda, & honey for taste. (u may have to heat the honey in ur microwave for a few seconds to get it smooth enuff to mix well in the water) (& honey doesnt mess with your diabetes) Drink 3 to 4 glasses a day you'll be amazed how your energy level increases & all the while it's gettin rid of any toxins built up in your body.

I think my eyes are a little better than they were.My hubby said one day last week my eyes were so swollen I looked like a pumpkin with slits for eyes.Yes,thats how bad it got.Today I look more normal but you can still see the swelling and puffiness all around them.I dont know if I believe that allergies is the cause of my eyes but I will go with that for now.Its better than the alternatives.

We have an ice storm warning starting from 6pm tonight until Wed.afternoon.I hope it passes us by this time.We really dont need to miss anymore school or they will take Spring Break away and mom already booked a Condo.Even if they do take Spring Break away we will still go but that will affect Reeces grades alot because our school is super strict on attendance and has alot of weird policies about it.

I hope everyone has a great week.Mine will be better when I am well and if it does not freezing rain.Reece was sick yesterday.He threw up and had to run to the bathroom several times because his stomach was tore up that morning.Then he slept all day and woke up around 730pm and ate,we read a book and then he went back to sleep and slept all night and went to school this morning.

Spring Break

My eyes are still crazy puffy.I look like a monster.But in other news,good news,me and Reece are going to Florida with my parents and Latimer for Spring Break to visit these amazing places.

and we will be staying at this lovely Condo only 2 miles away from the parks:) We are getting a 4 day pass so we can go to all of the theme parks and mom said on the last day we may drive up to the beach which is only an hour away from where we will be staying so Reece can see the beach for the very first time:)


I cant wait.Its going to be a trip of a lifetime:) I know it will be magical and fun and something we will never forget.Only 9 weeks to go and I am counting down the days.....Since just me,mom,Reece,Latimer and my dad are going we are going to take the Land Rover instead of the RV and stay in the Condo.My mom says its tons cheaper that way believe it or not.We are going to have a whole week of nothing but fun!! After that I am going to TRY my best to go back to work fulltime so I better enjoy the vacation while it lasts.This will be the biggest vacation I have been on "as an adult."

Me time

Thank you Dani for the virtual soup and grill cheese:) Fly,you can have some of my double noodle soup anytime.Today hubby is back to work after a long weekend and Reece is back at school.Hes still stuffy but hopefully he will get better soon.He did go to basketball practice last night.They are having a party for the kids Feb.7th at the old community center which will be fun.

My eyes are still swollen.This is day 3 of waking up with dry puffy eyes.They are swollen on the tops of my eyelids.Today I am just going to take a nap if I can and watch American Idol and Greys Anatomy that I have recorded.I may do some light house cleaning.I am still feeling kind of achy and just hoping I dont get a stuffy nose like Reece cause mine always seems to hang around for a couple of weeks and I cant sleep when my nose is clogged.Last night the water in the downstairs bathroom froze up and tomorrow its suppose to be 62 degrees.Our weather is just insane.Right now its about 19 out there.

Sick

Not alot to talk about really.Hubby had Saturday-today off and so did Reece because hes sick and I let him stay home today.Hes got a stopped up nose and cough.I feel achy and my lungs just ache eventhough I dont really have a cough.My ears also hurt and for some reason I have woken up two days in a row with my eyes really swollen.

Reece has basketball practice tonight.I really dont feel like going anywhere at all until I feel better and my eyes have gone back down.I also have a pimple breakout on my forehead and I havent had pimples in a long while so that sucks.

We watched Mirrors which was kinda scary and My Best Friends Girl which was pretty good.I got caught up on The Bachelor an Rock of love tour bus.I will probably watch Greys Anatomy that I recorded tomorrow when I am home alone. I missed the episode before it but I cant get my ABC episode player to work so I am just going to have to miss it:(

I made some chili and homemade chicken noodle soup yesterday but I put way too many noodles in it.I hope everyone has a great week.

I finally have a post with no complaining this time.Reece only has one basketball game tomorrow which will be over by noon.Him and hubby also have a 3 day weekend:) Hubby is off for the holiday and Reece is off for a teacher in service day.I was thinking they would make him make the day up from the Ice day he had but they did'nt.Reece also had an awards assembly today and he got to come home early.So things are looking pretty good right now.

Next week Reece has 3 practices and the following week is the last week of games.They took thier pictures yesterday.So things will calm down a little more for us soon which is always a good thing and then we can just look forward to our next project.Have a great weekend everyone.

No title

Sometimes I wish I could just vanish without a trace...at least for awhile anyway.I need a break from life for awhile.Have you ever drove to work or somewhere you drive to everyday and just passed the rode you were suppose to turn on because you were too busy thinking about something else?

I have probably done that more times than I can count and I did it while taking Reece to school this morning.You know what I was thinking? Something silly like if I won the lottery I would pay to have a crosswalk put up for the kids to cross the street before and after school which is dumb because although we do finally have lottery in Arkansas now I never play.We have a crosswalk from the elementary but we need another one at the other end of the road.

My time on the computer is actually getting less and less.I just have too much going on and once I go back to work I will hardly be able to get on here at all.I know alot of people are going back to JS but I really dont want too right now and I have Facebook because all my friends have it but I dont like Facebook at all really.I just pop on there for a minute every once in awhile when I get a message and then pop back off of there.

Tired..

Reeces team did'nt win their second game but it was against alot bigger school in a tournament but they did'nt lose by much at all.It was a neck and neck game.We have alot more basketball this week between games and practices.There are at least 3 games this week. Heres a pic of me and Reece snoozing on the couch after all the games on Saturday.




We finally got a Tivo so now I don't have to miss all my favorite shows.Hubby set it up to record the rest of this seasons Rock of Love tour bus,The Bachelor and Greys Anatomy.The roofer is suppose to come out and reshingle our whole roof next month and it definitely needs it.Its done more damage since the last time he was here patching it.

I see that JS was bought by someone else and they have it up and running again although it is alot different.When I am comfortable somewhere I do not like change.For now I am not going to sign up over there.I like it here just fine.I am so proud of Reece because hes such a good guy.He is making awesome grades in school.I owe him $8.50 for all the As and Bs he has earned and on his report card over half his grades are As.He works hard everyday at school and then comes home and does more schoolwork for up to 3 hours or more a night and never complains.

I hope everyone has a good day.I am still worn out from the weekend but basketball will be over by the end of this month or sooner and then we will have one less thing to do.Until then we are really enjoying it and making memories together that we will always remember:)

Bball day

Our team won like 35-12 or somewhere in that range.Now we are getting ready for lunch and then in a few hours it will be time for round 2 of todays basketball games.We won't be home until sometime later tonight.I lost the school buses trail on the way to the game but I ended up still finding the place on my own:)

Busy weekend

I usually look forward to the weekend but this one I am kind of dreading.Tonight Reece has a flute concert at school and then tomorrow he has basketball games all day.Most Saturdays there is only 1 game and its early in the morning and over by noon but this time,the bus will leave at 745 tomorrow morning (I have to follow the bus in my car to these unfamiliar cities) and it won't return until 1pm and then we have to go back to the school by 4 for him to hop on another bus to go to a different city and that actual game does'nt even start until 7pm.

My back and bottom can not handle that much bleacher time seriously.My body is already shifted in the seat before 30 minutes is up.I don't think Reece is really looking forward to that second set of games either.I did'nt know basketball was going to last for 3 months.Its been totally fun but I think we are really for it to be over with now.

It would'nt be so bad if Reece did'nt have gobs of homework every night and tons of reading.You moms who work fulltime and tend to your house,kids,help with homework and go to sporting events and stuff with your kids,I give you total props because I honestly don't know how you juggle it all.I don't how I will be able to handle all that.

I hope everyone has a great weekend.I have'nt been able to sleep very good lately and all I wanna do is curl up in bed and read until I fall asleep...

I really wish I could win the lottery and get all these millions upon millions of dollars just so I could share it with all my friends and family and be able to visit them all more.I love all my friends and family so much and I have the best of both and I would love to be able to make everyones life easier for them.

Weather update-Venting session

Well everyone made it home safely yesterday despite the freezing rain but I am still in a foul mood.For one the trashman is so irresponsible and you never know when hes going to show.His normal route is suppose to be every Tuesday morning and so far its after 1 and hes a no show.This would'nt be so bad if he did'nt pull this kind of stuff every week.Also we have a new law here in town to where you can only leave your trashcan by the curb from 7am Tuesday morning until 7pm Tuesday night.If you do you are fined $150.Well sometimes the trashman does'nt show up until around Wed. or Thursday.Yeah,thats really going to work.OK speak of the devil,he just pulled up.LOL..Yeah I need to calm down,huh?!

Also its raining today and our windshield wipers broke yet again for the like 3rd or 4th time and I still have to get Reece from school and he has an away game tonight out of town.I may just call and say we are'nt coming this time.He already missed the last game because we were at my parents but I guess such things should'nt feel so important to me.I have too much anxiety over stuff and I need to work on not sweating the small stuff.I know these things are minor but man I get so worked up over stuff lately.I am actually looking forward to going back to work in April and I hope places are hiring 3rd shift so I can get on somewhere.Going back to work is going to seem hard too probably because I will still have to help Reece with all his homework and take him to all his sporting events but maybe the extra money and the getting out and about and being on a regular scedule will make me feel alot better.We shall see.

I rented The Pineapple Express and Disaster Movie today to watch over the weekend.I watched the new Bachelor last night.Hopefully I can keep up with all the episodes this time and I am also watching the newest Rock of Love tour bus with Bret Michaels.I love those dating type shows.

Off to a rough start

I could not sleep at all last night.I took a very short nap this morning after I dropped Reece off at school.When I got up I noticed that the car and house were coated in freezing rain! Not again...One day it will feel like spring and then the next this happens.We actually don't have alot of really cold days here but this year we have had a little more than usual.For the past 6 years we usually only get maybe 1 snow day a year and one or two freezing rain days.This winter season has topped that so far and its only the beginning of Jan.We usually don't get the snow and ice until mid Feb.
Alot of schools have closed early today but not ours.
I bought season 1 of Melrose Place with some of my Christmas money and that came in the mail today.I have also started working on Valentine cards.I like to be ahead on things as you all know.Well thats all that is going on around here right now.I hope everyone enjoys their day.Mine will be better once Reece is home with me and we are both safe and sound.Then I just have to worry that hubby makes it home from work safely.

Back to reality

Reece goes back to school tomorrow after the nice long Christmas break.Now its back to basketball games and practice and reading two books a week.We kind of got ourselves in trouble this time because he left his 2 library books at school that he was suppose to read over break.Luckily he owned one of the books and we are going to read it tonight.Nothing like waiting until the last minute.The other one is an older book though and it is not sold in local bookstores and even the library did'nt have it so we are just going to have to get it from school tomorrow and try and read it all in two days.Thats going to be hard because he has an away basketball game on Tuesday and possibly a practice on Monday.

Today we are just going to chill out at home and cook burgers on the grill and maybe watch a movie.We watched Ghost Town last night and it was really good:) I am getting my nephew a Valentine package together to mail.I got him 3 pair of superhero socks,sticker book,football and two different kinds of candies.I started getting Reece some stuff too.I may try and get him a video game as a present too.I always get Reece a Valentine "present" which is an actual present not really having to do with Valentines Day but like an I love you present which is usually a dvd or video game.I hope everyone is having a great day and I hope everyone enjoys thier first full week of the new year!

We went to see Bedtime Stories today.We all really enjoyed it.It was funny,cute,sweet and just everything all rolled into one.Now we are at home grilling outside and just enjoying our time together.I hope everyone has a Happy New Year.
